As most of you know, Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. That doesn’t mean your Windows 10 computer will stop working. But it does mean you will stop receiving updates. So, the longer you stay on Windows 10, the more vulnerable it will become. For most people, this means upgrading to Windows 11 (if your system is compatible) or buying a new Windows 11 computer. How does that affect your Sage 50?
- Version 2023 was the first release of Sage 50 to be fully Windows 11 compatible. That doesn’t mean versions 2022 and older won’t work at all, but you may experience problems running on Windows 11. Anyone in this situation should consider upgrading to version 2024.
- Versions 2013 through 2019 will not activate if reinstalled. If you are using any version of Sage 50 from 2013 to 2019, and you are planning on buying a new computer, you need to upgrade to the current version of Sage 50. You can read Sage’s explanation of this problem here. The software will install, and even launch. But since the activation will fail, you will be locked out after 10 uses. There is no work-around for this problem.
