Keyboard shortcuts are great time savers, as long as you can remember them.\u00a0 I recently discovered that Excel uses the top left keys on your keyboard as easy to remember formatting shortcuts for numbers, date, and time.\u00a0 The shortcuts are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

CTRL+SHIFT+~<\/strong><\/td>\nGeneral format.\u00a0 This is the default format for Excel, so you will only need this one for a cell that has already been formatted differently.
\nI\u2019m not making it up when I say that most people I talk with on the phone refer to the ~ as \u201csquiggly line\u201d.\u00a0 So I\u2019ll make its actual name, Tilde,<\/em> the nerd word of the day.<\/td>\n		\n
