{"id":380,"date":"2011-08-31T21:41:59","date_gmt":"2011-09-01T02:41:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.iqaccountingsolutions.com\/blog\/?p=380"},"modified":"2012-09-24T14:17:53","modified_gmt":"2012-09-24T19:17:53","slug":"vendor-management-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iqaccountingsolutions.com\/blog\/vendor-management-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Vendor Management Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Finally, the convenience that you have known in accounts receivable since version 2010 has been added to Peachtree 2012&#8217;s accounts payable.\u00a0 The <em>Vendor Management Center<\/em> can show you a vendor&#8217;s contact information, transaction history, and even a summary aging all in one place.<\/p>\n<p>To find the <em>Vendor Management Center<\/em>, click on the <em>Vendors &amp; Purchases<\/em> tab that is on the left side of the main Peachtree window.\u00a0 Then click on the <em>Vendor Management<\/em> tab at the top of that page.\u00a0 Out of the box, it comes set to display purchase orders, payments, item purchase history, and totals.\u00a0 But you can choose as many items as you want from the following list, you can even include the same module more than once if you want to compare different time frames side by side:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aged Payables<\/li>\n<li>Expense Tickets<\/li>\n<li>Find a Report<\/li>\n<li>Item Purchase History<\/li>\n<li>Payments<\/li>\n<li>Purchase Orders<\/li>\n<li>Purchases\/Inventory Received<\/li>\n<li>Time Tickets<\/li>\n<li>Top Vendors: Last Twelve Months<\/li>\n<li>Totals<\/li>\n<li>Vendor Credit Memos<\/li>\n<li>Vendor Information<\/li>\n<li>Vendors &amp; Purchases Tasks<\/li>\n<li>Write Checks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To select the modules you want to display, click the <em>Customize The Page<\/em> button that is above the <em>Vendor Management<\/em> tab.\u00a0 Simply select what you want from the <em>Available Sections<\/em> list on the left and click the <em>Add<\/em> button.\u00a0 Or if you want all of the modules, click the <em>Remove All<\/em> button to clear the list, then click <em>Add All<\/em>.\u00a0 You can rearrange the list by selecting an item and clicking the <em>Move Up<\/em> or\u00a0 <em>Move Down<\/em> buttons. And you can change the section title with the <em>Rename<\/em> button.\u00a0 Click <em>OK<\/em> to apply your changes.<\/p>\n<p>Once you are back to the management center, select a vendor ID from the drop down list, or use the <em>Find Vendor With:<\/em> box to search for a vendor based on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vendor name<\/li>\n<li>Vendor type<\/li>\n<li>Contact name<\/li>\n<li>Telephone\/fax<\/li>\n<li>City<\/li>\n<li>State<\/li>\n<li>Zip Code<\/li>\n<li>Purchase Rep<\/li>\n<li>Any of your 5 vendor custom      fields<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Below the vendor ID is an envelope button that will start an email to that vendor.\u00a0 Or you can click on their name to open the <em>Maintain Vendors<\/em> window.<\/p>\n<p>in the top right corner of most sections, you will find 3 buttons, <em>Print, Send To<\/em> (can choose from Excel, email, or PDF), and <em>Customize.<\/em> in addition to adjusting the size of that section, the<em> Customize<\/em> button lets you add, remove, and rearrange to columns that are displayed.\u00a0 Sections that display transactions also let you select a date range.\u00a0 And you can double click on a line to open the original transaction.<\/p>\n<p>I think you&#8217;ll find the <em>Vendor Management Cente<\/em>r can save a lot of time when you need to research almost anything related to a vendor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new Vendor Management Center gives you quick access to all of a vendor&#8217;s activity in one convenient screen.
